Who is Al Fuller?
Al has been singing, playing, and composing music, for most of his life. He was raised in Western Massachusetts Pioneer Valley. His mother was a piano teacher, and taught him to play the piano as soon as he had grown enough to sit on the piano stool. But at age 12, when his mother brought home a guitar from a yard sale, it was love at first sight.
Al studied privately through his teens, and after graduating from the University of Massachusetts, traveled extensively. A Veteran performer, Al entertained troops in Viet Nam, and played in England, Spain, Canada, Mexico,Thailand, Australia, and most recently in Beijing and France. In the United States, Al has played concerts from Massachusetts to Florida, Chicago to Seattle. His music ranges from original songs, to rock and roll, to folk tunes, but blues is his genre of choice. Al Fuller's Moonlight Movers
Al Fuller’s Moonlight Movers are a trio, and one of the Sarasota area's premier bands. It takes extremely accomplished musicians to make a trio work!
Rich MacDonald is one of Sarasota's most sought after drummers, at home with all musical styles. He hails from the Boston area where he performed with the well known Stovall Brown Blues Band.
Barry Sikes is a critically acclaimed Blues bassman. His tone and style are perfect for the Moonlight Movers. Originally from Savannah, he performed with the Bluesonics, a very popular Georgia band.
Growing up in the musically rich area of Western Massachusetts, Al Fuller played and sang with many bands, and formed the first Al Fuller Blues Band. Al has played with the Fabulous Heavyweights, a touring Blues band; Freefall, a popular Denver based band; The Al Fuller Blues Show in Seattle; and Suitcase Full of Blues in Sarasota, featuring Jimmie Fadden from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on drums and harmonica. Al’s smooth baritone vocals accompanied by some tasty or sometimes fiery guitar playing, and some quirky onstage patter bring the crowds back for more.
Al has performed in concert as a solo all around the world, and has six albums of original music.
Al Fuller's Moonlight Movers can rock the house or smooth it out as the performance requires. They are best known for their tight, interesting arrangements of Blues classics and Al’s entertaining original songs.
